In March of 2011, we set a Dialogue Table for the Moquegua region to serve as a consensus-making space between our company, authorities, and the community. The Table met until August 2012, at which point 26 agreements were reached on water resources, the environment, and social responsibility to be met at different stages in the project.
The Dialogue Table functioned in an exemplary, inclusive manner, with the consensus of all the parties involved: the regional government, municipalities, the Peruvian state, and local civil society. It was precisely this consensus that made the Dialogue Table a reference point that even received accolades from international bodies.
